Spring Beauty Trends

Hi there!!! Today's post is a very exciting one: the Spring Beauty Trends for 2013!!!

1: Nails Inc. Feather Nails York; 2: Butter London Sweetie Shop Spring 2013 Collection; 3. Maybelline Color Whisper Cherry On Top; 4. Essie Topless and Barefoot; 5. Lily Collins, Seventeen Magazine, aka my brow icon; 6. Illamasqua Speckled Nails Fragile; 7. Urban Decay Eyeshadow (I'm actually not sure of the exact color, sorry!!!)
**all of these pics are found off polyvore.com
Every season there are so many different trends based on the most popular looks at fashion week. In this post, I will be telling you about some of my favorite!!

1. Statement nails have been center stage for the past couple seasons. This season, feather nails, compliments of nails inc. are no exception!!! I really can't think of any way to describe them except for a glitter that looks like feathers on your nails!!

2. As with every spring, pastel nail polish is a major trend. I put in a picture of the Butter LONDON Spring 2013 line for a reason: it is the perfect selection of all the pastels anyone needs!!! I absolutely adore wearing pastels on my nails in the spring after weary such dark colors for months.

3. "Popsicle Lips," or sheer, glossy lip colors seem to be the next big thing for lips. They are often lightweight and very easy to apply. These became popular with the Revlon Lip Butters, but since then have become more balmy and sheer (I find the Revlon Lip Butters to be more opaque in many of their colors). Every brand seems to be coming out with their own version from YSL and MAC to L'Oreal and Maybelline.

4. Nude nails have been in for some time now and this spring is no exception. The point of a nude nail is to blend into your skin color and elongate your fingers (They also go with any outfit you could ever wear!). Another trend is adding neon accents to nude nails such as nude nails with a neon tip.

5. Defining the eyebrows has become a huge part of many people's makeup routines. They shape the face and can really change up your look. Bold brows seem to be what's in this season. I interpret this as a stronger, yet still natural, well-groomed brow, though many others interpret this trend with a more unkempt brow. I think this picture of Lily Collins really captivates, to me, what the perfect "bold brow" is.

6. The nails are dominating the trends again with speckled nails!!! Birds are huge this season, be it on nails or even as prints on clothes, you will see them popping up everywhere!!! I am so excited for this trend that I think I might just have to shell out a little extra money for one of these polishes!!! I love the idea and the range from Illamasqua comes in five super cute pastel colors!!! Deborah Lippmann also has her own line coming out as well.

7. Color on the eyes is the last of the beauty trends I'm going to be talking about today!!! Bright eyeshadows and liners are hot for the spring (and the summer!!!). I prefer more neutral makeup, but I do like to add a pop of pastel to my lids from time to time (Lavender is very flattering for brown eyes, such as mine). I recommend checking out Urban Decay or Make Up For Ever, who are well known for their extensive color ranges, or even the Maybelline EyeStudio quads which come in a variety of colors well.

Hope you enjoy some of my favorite beauty trends for this season!!!

Essie :: Nice Is Nice

Hi!!! Today's post is my first nail post from one of my top nail polish brands: Essie!!!

I am a nail polish addict. I love it. And one of my top brands ever is Essie. It has pretty consistent formulation that is fantastic and it is pretty easy to find too!!!
I included two pics because the color looked so different with and without flash!!!

Nice is Nice is a white-based lilac with a cream finish polish. It was super easy to work with, opaque in two coats, and never streaky. It's also a perfect pastel lilac for spring!!! yayay!!!! I find that most Essie polishes have pretty good wear time, at least a few days on me (I only change my polish about once a week though)

I got mine at Ulta for about $8.00.

Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine Moroccan Sleek Oil Treatment

Today's post is my very first hair post from one of my very favorite hair care brands: Garnier!!!

Oil treatments are great for moisturizing hair, keeping them sleek and frizz-free, adding shine to hair, and more!!!

Moroccan Oil's oil treatment is one of the most popular on the market, and one that I was very interested in trying... except the price tag was not one that I was very fond of (around $40 for a bottle of hair oil?!). So when I saw this little beauty at Target last summer I snatched up!!!

This makes my hair shiny, but not greasy or oily, and it definitely helps tame my frizz (I have thick, dry, curly hair that can frizz up a little). I really like this to add moisture to my hair.

This was my first oil treatment and might I say I love it!!! This retails for around $4 at any drugstore, which is an amazing deal!!!

MAC Eyeshadow Duo :: This & That

Today's post is about a MAC mineralize eyeshadow duo in the shade This &That?

I love how compact and travel-friendly this duo is. It comes with a satin-finished ivory and a shimmery champagne (that has the faintest hint of holographic shimmer, unnoticeable unless looked for).

These are very soft and pigmented. Surprisingly, this duo has a lot of versatility as well. Both can be used as lid shades or highlight shades. They are very brightening and super easy to work with and create different looks with!!!

This retails for $20 at MAC stores and counters, but I found mine at a CCO for around $11 last summer. I really recommend it, especially for someone who doesn't have a lot of experience in eyeshadows or is just looking for some really nice neutral everyday colors!!! These are perfect!!!

Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment

Today's post is about one of my all-time favorite products: the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments.

I own several of these and I adore them all, but this one I am addicted to!!! (It's tied for first with Rosé).

These are the most luxurious and moisturizing lip balms I have ever used in my life!!! After using these, other chapsticks just don't compare!!!

There are two clear chapsticks in the line: this one and the original (in the brown packaging). I purchased this one over the original because it "does extra." It states that it is scientifically proven to repair lips. I'm not too sure about the deep down improvement of my lips, but I do know that this is the perfect on-the-go fix for flaky, chapped lips. Of all the lip products I own, this is tied for first with Aquaphor because I have such dry skin, hydrating lip products are my go-to.

This retails for $25.00 and can be sold at Sephora, fresh stores, or wherever else fresh is sold!!
